As the director of the Baby business unit, Mr. Dao Viet Hung’s main job is operating the distribution division including sales and marketing, as well as working with foreign partners. During his 5 years of working at SnB, Mr. Hung holds his belief firmly: “Unprecedented success requires unprecedented efforts.”

Career Path

Mr. Hung possesses a wealth of experience from 10 years working at Nokia and Microsoft. In October 2015, he started working at SnB as a brand manager, then marketing manager, and has been serving as the director of the Baby business unit since 2018.

The prerequisite factor that makes him devote his commitment to SnB is the leadership, as he believes this will guide the overall company culture. In addition, he is also impressed with the cordial working environment and the sociable, happy, hard-working employees who dare to take head-on challenges.

The Key to Success

Mr. Hung takes great pride in the values he has built during his time at the company. First, the personnel is not large but has great solidarity and working ethics. Second, the management and work coordination system enables a substantial increase in work efficiency.

Last but not least, Mr. Hung and his team have achieved significant sales objectives: he further promotes the success of long-established brands such as Aprica or Arau Baby, and at the same time signed an exclusive distribution contract with Joie – a new brand with positive achievements in Vietnamese market.

To achieve these successes, Mr. Hung shares that hard work is a prerequisite. In addition, a good leader also needs to know how to effectively delegate the work and arrange the appropriate staff. He advocates a hierarchical structure, in which personnel at different levels take on specific roles, which helps increase their autonomy and flexibility and allow them to spend time on outside activities.

Outside of work, he prefers democracy and always encourages others to develop their personal strengths and abilities. Besides, the ability to make quick decisions also contributes to his achievements.

The abovementioned key to success was acquired by Mr. Hung after many confrontations and overcoming challenges and difficulties. One of them happened at the time when he took over the role of the director of the Baby business unit. According to him, at that time the company was experiencing rapid development and organizational restructuring. Since the staff was not used to the new organizational structure and novel way of working, almost everything had to be rebuilt from scratch. Meanwhile, the sales objectives were set quite high. With living up to the board of directors and other employees’ expectations as his greatest motivation, Mr. Hung tried his best, gradually rearranging the work system, then selecting and rearranging staff.

With him, the deciding factor in his overcoming that challenge was that he openly shared his wishes, expectations, and difficulties with other employees. Thanks to those companions, he successfully tackled the challenge, continuing to more important milestones in his career. He appreciates and adores all members of SnB, and is especially impressed with Mrs. Dung – Director of Human Resources Administration – for her clear, decisive, and attentive working manner.

Not only at work, but the business unit led by Mr. Hung also received many compliments in extracurricular activities. He humbly credits this to his luck, saying that most of the staff are young and enthusiastic participants. On the rare occasions when other members are not interested, he clearly states his opinion that contributing to the company’s activities is a right and also a responsibility and evokes everyone’s enthusiasm to participate.
